Shotblast Equipment & Spares (SBE) supplies shot blasting spares and parts across South Africa — in-stock wear parts, blasting media, and consumables for wheelabrators, blast rooms, cabinets, pipe cleaners, and tumble blast machines. We stock our own Speedlock brand of wear components alongside compatible spares for Tilghman Rotoblast, Wheelabrator, Pangborn, and other major brands in operation on South African factory floors.
Whether you’re running a production line that can’t afford a day of downtime or maintaining a single cabinet in a fabrication workshop, we can quote and dispatch the parts you need, often from stock on hand. Speak to our spares team on Contact Us for availability, cross-reference part numbers, or technical advice on choosing the right replacement.
Speedlock Wear Parts — Our Own Brand
Speedlock is SBE’s house range of shot blasting wear parts, designed and supplied specifically for the South African market. The Speedlock line covers the high-wear components that drive blast machine running costs: blast wheel blades, impellers, control cages, side plates, and top liners. Speedlock parts are manufactured to the dimensional and metallurgical specifications required for common wheelabrator and similar machine platforms, giving operators a direct-fit alternative to imported OEM spares at lower cost and shorter lead times.
If you’re running a machine and need to know whether a Speedlock equivalent exists for a specific OEM part, send us the part number or a photograph and we’ll cross-reference it for you.
Brands We Supply Spares For
Our spares inventory and sourcing network covers the shot blasting equipment brands most commonly found on South African production lines:
- Speedlock — SBE own-brand wear parts (in stock)
- Wheelabrator — compatible wear parts, blades, liners, and impellers
- Pangborn — compatible spares for Pangborn wheel blast equipment
- Other OEMs on request — send the machine plate photograph and part number
Where an OEM part is no longer available or lead times are impractical, we can usually supply a dimensionally equivalent Speedlock replacement or source a compatible part through our import network.
Shot Blasting Wear Parts & Consumables
Blast Wheels, Impellers & Control Cages
The rotating assembly in any wheelabrator is the single largest source of wear and spares spend. We supply complete blast wheel assemblies, individual impellers, control cages, and all associated retaining hardware. Precision-balanced replacements keep vibration down and extend the life of surrounding components like bearings and wheel housings.
Blades & Vanes
Blades (also called vanes or throwing blades) are the highest-turnover wear item in any wheel blast machine. We carry Speedlock blades in the common profiles used in South African industry, with stock quantities that let us respond to maintenance callouts without waiting on import lead times. Blade kits for scheduled replacements can be supplied with matching wheel hardware to reduce the time needed for a line stop.
Manganese & Wear Liners
Wheel housing liners, chamber panels, and abrasive-path liners in manganese steel and other wear-resistant grades. Replacing worn liners on schedule protects the structural shell of the blast machine — a far more expensive component if abrasion is allowed to cut through. We supply cut-to-pattern replacement panels for common wheelabrator and continuous-feed machine layouts.
Blast Nozzles
Nozzles for compressed-air blast operations in boron carbide, tungsten carbide, and silicon nitride, across standard bore sizes. Nozzle life is dominated by the liner material and the abrasive being used — we can recommend a grade based on your duty cycle and media, and stock boron carbide for operators who want the longest nozzle service life on a single shift’s workload.
Blast Hoses, Couplings & Nozzle Holders
Rubber and polyurethane-lined blast hose in the standard bore sizes, plus quick-coupling hardware, nozzle holders, safety couplings, and retaining pins. A burst hose or a failed coupling in the middle of a production run is costly — keeping spares on the shelf is inexpensive insurance.
Dust Collector Cartridges & Filter Elements
Pleated cartridge filters and bag filter elements for dust extraction units fitted to blast rooms, wheel blast machines, and grinding booths. We stock the common sizes used on Tilghman and compatible collectors, and can supply ATEX-rated cartridges for operations handling aluminium or other combustible dust loads.
Elevators, Screens & Media Handling Parts
Bucket elevator buckets and belts, separator screens, airwash components, spinner baskets, and the rest of the hardware that keeps abrasive media cycling cleanly through a wheel blast system. Machines that aren’t separating media well use more abrasive per part processed — replacing worn separator parts pays for itself in media consumption.
Spares by Machine Type
Each machine style has its own characteristic wear profile and parts catalogue. If you know which type of machine you’re maintaining, start here:
Wheelabrator & Shotblasting Machine Spares
The fast-wearing components on any wheel blast machine are the blades, impellers, control cages, and wheel housing liners — all stocked in Speedlock and in compatible OEM form. We also supply drive belts, bearings, and wheel hub assemblies for the full range of shotblasting machines in use across South Africa, including table, tumble, continuous-feed, and hanger-type machines.
Blast Booth & Blast Room Spares
Compressed-air blast booths use a different parts inventory to wheel machines: nozzles, deadman controls, blast hose, hose couplings, operator helmets and air-supply filters, floor grids and recovery-screw components, and dust collector elements. Spares for all of the above, including full breathing-air assemblies where the booth is used for extended operation, are available on request.
Tumble Blast & Hanger Machine Spares
Tumble blast machines are particularly demanding on their rubber belts and drive drums — replacement belts and belt-lacing hardware are a common order. Overhead and monorail hanger machines need hook-and-chain maintenance kits, drive bearings, and support roller spares in addition to the standard wheel-blast wear items.
Pipe Cleaning & Plate Cleaning Line Spares
Pipe cleaning machines and plate cleaning roller conveyor lines are continuous-feed machines where the wear profile is dominated by the seals, the roller or internal-feed carriage assembly, and the abrasive recovery system. We hold the common replacement parts for these platforms and can source machine-specific items to order.
Blasting Media & Abrasives
Shotblast Equipment & Spares also supplies the full range of blasting media used in South African industry. Matching the right media to the job controls both finish quality and operating cost — we can advise on grade selection if you’re commissioning a new process or troubleshooting an unsatisfactory surface finish.
- Steel shot — S70 through S460, for peening, descaling, and general-purpose surface preparation
- Steel grit — G10 through G80, angular media for aggressive cleaning and profile generation
- Aluminium oxide — for surface preparation before coating and for more aggressive material removal
- Garnet — for wet and dry blasting, profile generation on steel before coating
- Glass beads — for cleaning without changing substrate dimensions, peening of soft metals
- Copper slag, plastic media, and specialty abrasives on request
Media is supplied in 25 kg bags or bulk bags depending on volume, with country-wide delivery. See our main product range or contact us for current pricing and grade availability.
